At Kingscliff Church we are super enthusiastic about good health, clean and active living, and sharing our passion with our local community. Centred around the ethos of the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, Nourish is our local non-profit organisation set up specifically to make health and wellness attainable to all the residents of our local community. Throughout the year, we offer numerous free or minimal-cost classes including: cooking classes, film screenings, guest health presenters, disease-reversing programs and more.
As a Seventh-day Adventist Church, we are proud of our rich heritage in combining biblical spirituality with optimal physical and mental health. Did you know that Seventh-day Adventists live on average between 7-10 years longer than the general population? Did you know that the Seventh-day Adventists were vegetarian, clean living, clean eating, health reformers before it was "a thing" to be one? Seventh-day Adventists have been at the center of some of the most important and revealing medical studies on lifestyle over the last several decades. These studies and their findings have been popularized by National Geographic articles and several books, including The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who've Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner.
In our own local congregation we have many healthy, happy, and hopping octogenarians and even a centenarian that still thinks and acts likes she's a teenager! What was Jesus' promise? "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10, NIV). Here at Kingscliff Church, we believe this isn't just an elusive promise for the hereafter, but a practical, life-changing promise for the here and now!
